On the north –west of Slovenia in the Gorenjska region, on the border with Italy and Austria on the slopes of the Julian Alps and Karavanke Alps, in the upper part of the valley of Sava river there is Kranjska Gora, touristic destination of major importance and one of the most known ski resort in Slovenia. Kranjska Gora is a touristic oriented area, surrounded with woods and meadows and as it a start point for many ski paths situated in the surroundings. The town is situated on 810 m of highness, and the old part of it is surrounded with a new one.
