Trekking Italy
There are two types of trekking, competitive and recreational. Competition in the trek takes place in a large area (150 kilometers) and competitors must reach checkpoints marked on maps that were given before the race. Races can last days, weeks or one month, depending on the size of the race. The equipment used in the trek involves walking sticks and a backpack in which competitors usually carry food and drink for several days, and other supplies. Recreational trek involves hiking through various relief and long paths in larger groups and is not intended for competition, but the enjoyment of nature, society and movement. Thus, the trek often spend the night in a tent or in huts where they exist on a trekking trail.
