On the southwest coast of the Krk island is situated the homonymous town - Krk. With its position the town it's an ideal start point for explore the whole island. This town is the biggest administrative, political, economic and cultural centre of the island.

The old town centre is full of historic monuments, which were built during the ancient Roman Empire and the medieval era, and various museum situated in the tight streets between the obsolete rocky slabs of the surrounding houses.
