Njivice were mentioned for the first time in the donation document of the duke Ivan Frankopan from the 1474. But the archaeological diggings reveal that the place is much older. Beside the colony of Villa sasso bianco, Njivice are mentioned also in 1790. Njivice were a little place in the history whose habitants were dealing with fishing, olive growing, breeding and forestry. Recognising the value and the potential of Njivice there was built the first hotel "Luka" and the first Villa Dinka in 1930 which is considered the beginning year of the tourist activity in Njivice.
