Cultural tourism Lokve

Cultural tourism is defined as travel persons outside the residence with a view to the search for new experiences and experiences that meet their cultural needs. Lokve is a village in Gorski Kotar, 8 km southwest of Delnice. Chief occupations are farming and wood processing. Lokve is located on the local road, a diverging road from the main road Karlovac - Rijeka. First mentioned in 1481. After the Louise Road had been finished, Lokve became an important traffic and communication point, connecting the coastal region with the interior.
Tourism has a long tradition in Lokve. In 1906 the Society for Beautification of the Town was established, and the construction of the storage lake Omladinsko Jezero made Lokve a sports centre for water sports - underwater orientation, rowing regattas. Lokve also offers a possibility of organized hunting, fishing and climbing tours.
There is a karst cave, Lokvarka, in the vicinity (1 km), which can be visited in a length of 1 km, and there is also Golubinjak Nature Forest Park. The traditional Frog's Night (in April), a frog jump competition, turns into a local feast with a rich offer of fish and frog specialities which can also be found in the surroundings.
